SIPHO'S PROFILE

The Voice of Hope, who urges us to live until we die

When he was born, the black voice was silenced in South Africa during the height of the repression era. The World newspaper was banned. Little did his parents know that they have given birth to a voice of hope that will grow up to inspire people to "live until you die".

Christened Sipho (meaning gift) he was to learn hard lessons at the school of life, through various experiences. From student activist, to almost exile, church youth leader, student leader, community development practitioner, media practitioner, church pioneer: he has amassed knowledge of the complexities of life and has been endowed with a gift of the word to make sense out of it all and teach us all to be students of life who continually learn the "this too shall pass". Sipho Mnyakeni is an essential part of life.

Wherever he has been, he has left a trail of 'damage'. His 'victims' continue to excel in their vocations and they are forever grateful that he did not shy away from allowing himself to be an instrument of inspiration. His damages include medical doctors, recording artists, actors, magistrates, principals, government officials, church leaders, prisoners, etc. His message easily permeates through all barriers and leaves evidence of change. Sipho Mnyakeni has inspired thousands of people through his simple yet profound ideas on motivation and personal development. Through his maiden motivational book, appearances on TV, Radio Lesedi and Radio Pulpit and the many live talks and workshops he has given to various schools, youth clubs, church groups, corporate organizations and individuals; he has helped steer many lives from despondency to joy, despair to hope, and skepticism to faith.

Sipho was born in Springs, Kwa Thema. His experiences as a student leader in the 1980’s are being rubbed off many future leaders through his talks, seminars and workshops.

He received his primary education from Kwa Thema Combined and Zamukulunga Primary School (in Klerksdorp) . He completed his matric at Nkumbulo Secondary School (Kwa Thema).

He holds the following qualifications from the University of the Free State, Qwaqwa, the erstwhile University of the North, Qwaqwa Campus: Bachelor of Arts (BA), B.A. Honours, Masters in Psychology and Higher Education Diploma.
